Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge strategy
There were so many frogs
“Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge” can be clicked here.
This week, I’ve been playing frog games so much that I’m completely immersed in frogs. I still vividly remember hearing the frogs croaking from the rice fields during my morning commute.
Now, onto achieving the goals. To be honest, most of them are pretty straightforward, but becoming the IMPERATOR RANARUM requires some serious determination.
KAMAERU ACHIEVEMENTS
THE POND MANAGER
This one is easy; I’ll get it soon.
GREEN THUMB
This one should be achievable as you progress through the story.
BIODIVERSITY CHAMPION
It’s a bit of a hassle, but if you combine ponds to create a large pond and fill it with crops, you’ll be able to achieve it. There was plenty of space available too. Just the wetland biome was enough, really.
THE MARMELADE ADDICT
For those who love jam, this achievement is so easy that 100 jars might not be enough.
THE SHIRT CONTEST
You absolutely need shirts in the mangrove, 100 won’t be enough.
STICKY BUSINESS
Since honey takes quite a while to gather intentionally, it’s best to collect it frequently during breaks in the story or when passing by.
CULT OF THE LAND
Space allocation is in two places.
FURNITURE MANIA
I wasn’t quite sure about the conditions for unlocking the last blueprint from Jenna, but after talking extensively with Jenna in the bag waterway, the blueprint was unlocked for me (with all 11 blueprints collected).
FLOWER POWER
Just pick the flowers and you’ll be fine!
THE FROG LOVER
You probably don’t need to feed them, but if you’re aiming to unlock the Frog Emperor achievement later on, I think it’s a good idea to feed them as well.
FROG STAR
It’s a bit of a hassle. Actually, the furniture for taking photos is predetermined, so if you just move it to where the frogs appear, you can finish quite quickly. (Remember to collect again when you move.)
Here are the types of furniture I had predetermined. Sorry if it’s different for others.
IMPERATOR RANARUM
This is tough, almost to the point where it feels like a game in itself. I recommend saving this for last. It becomes quite challenging if you don’t catch enough frogs and feed them before attempting to breed them.
There are two types that can only be created through breeding. So, start by making three each of COOKIE and BLUSH. Start with the inexpensive VICTULUS for breeding to get the hang of it.
Breeding is easier to target when both the body and appearance are the same color, so always feed same-colored frogs beforehand.
In a simple example, when you breed DOBLEX BLUSH BLUSH and ZEBRA PEACH PEACH, the choices are narrowed down to DOBLEX, ZEBRA, BLUSH, and PEACH. This increases the accuracy of automatic selection. Mixing other colors will increase the choices and decrease the targeting accuracy.
There are three question marks; the left represents the type, the middle the body, and the right the appearance. In the image above, the type is confirmed as ZEBRA. Matching colors determines the body first, then the appearance. The natural selection probability of filling the 9 squares alternately with the player is about 16.6% for DOBLEX, 16.6% for ZEBRA, and 33% each for BLUSH and PEACH
When colors aren’t matched, the distribution of the question marks is 50% for DOBLEX and ZEBRA each (one each), and 50% for BLUSH and PEACH each (two each). I think this is the rule. Once you understand this, it’s just a matter of going through the process. Good luck! Also, for achievements, it’s okay not to feed all types of frogs, but it can be costly, so be prepared financially.
HELPING HAND
Since targeting can be challenging, let’s do it while watching YouTube or Instagram.
COLLECTOR OF BUGS
You’ll achieve it eventually.
SHINE BRIGHT
Let’s work on this steadily.
PICTURE FRENZY
Most likely, you’ll be able to get it if you keep taking lots of pictures with the camera.
FRIEND OF DOGS
You can get it by clicking rapidly on the dog near Liam. Dogs are so cute!
SLEEPY FROG
Starting this achievement later on can be quite challenging. Let’s begin early. Pulling all-nighters is not good for your health.
It was a very enjoyable frog life
I spent the latter part repeatedly breeding frogs, sometimes with tears. Have a wonderful frog life, everyone. See you later!
