When you become an angel, you can reduce the falling speed by pressing the space key. At first, I didn’t think it was very useful, but once I got the hang of it, I realized it’s quite handy.
Pressing the space key twice quickly allows you to fly a little.
When using the keyboard, after dashing and jumping, if you quickly press and hold the key, it becomes quite useful.Initially, I thought it was for use during the descent after jumping, but if you press the key quickly (and hold it down the second time), you can gain a slight upward boost at the start, allowing you to jump to blocks you normally couldn’t reach.
As you get used to climbing, you’ll find that you can skip one block and ascend. If the target to jump to is at a lower position, you can move quite a distance. Well, since it’s primarily a climbing game, such situations don’t happen very often though.
Using the gimmick gives you an incredible jumping ability.
The timing varies depending on the gimmick you use, but if you press and hold the space key right after firing, you can jump to incredible heights. It’s very exhilarating once you get used to it.
This can be used to significantly shorten most parts of the game. Speedrunners are achieving impressive records using this technique! (Under 20 minutes)
It can also be used to unlock the achievements for Lava Mode and Climb Faster.
I haven’t confirmed it yet in Lava Mode, but I managed to get the Climb Faster achievement using the wing item. It seems you can unlock both achievements that way. If you’re not too particular, using the wings significantly lowers the difficulty, but I still think Lava Mode is challenging.
The “Climb Faster” achievement can be obtained by clearing it within 1 hour and 50 minutes regardless of the difficulty level.
Mastering the Use of Wings
Mastering it requires quite a bit of practice, and when you watch videos of speedrunners, they showcase incredible techniques that are hard to replicate.However, the methods I mentioned earlier are quite reliable, so give them a try! I’m off to fall into lava in Lava mode myself. See you again!
