Administrator’s Self-Introduction
I’m Shiranami, a lover of games.
Hello everyone,
Nice to meet you. My name is Shiranami, and I am the administrator of this blog. Here, I primarily write reviews and strategy guides for indie games that I bought on Steam, as well as other games I have played. I hope this blog can serve as a useful reference for those who are looking for interesting games to play.
I played my first game on the Family Computer (Famicom), which was ‘Super Mario Bros. 3’.
Back then, I played Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Family Computer (Famicom) with complete absorption. Classic power-ups like Fire Mario, cool Hammer Mario, and my favorite, Tanooki Mario, were the ones I used the most. It was so much fun navigating stages with Mario in various forms. Nintendo really did a great job! I distinctly remember the terrifying moment in the desert stage when the sun started chasing me. It would sit still up in the corner at first and then suddenly come after you. Those who know will understand—it was traumatic, right? (laughs) I remember clearing the stage and being overjoyed, only to accidentally pull the controller and cause the cartridge to glitch and freeze, taking me down with it.
I learned much later as an adult that in Japan, the Family Computer is referred to as the “Famicom,” while overseas it’s known as the Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES for short. I knew that NES referred to the Famicom, but I didn’t know its full name. ChatGPT taught me that, so thank you very much.
Nowadays, as time has progressed, gaming consoles have evolved numerous times. PlayStation has advanced to the fifth installment, and Nintendo has transitioned from the Famicom all the way to the Switch. I played up to PlayStation 3, but I got into PC gaming thanks to someone knowledgeable about PCs, and now I feel a bit distanced from console gaming.
However, there are PC games that are released on PlayStation, so I don’t feel too restricted. Plus, I’m impressed by indie games that make me think, “Which company made such an interesting game!” Personally, I’m moved by that and am currently exploring various games. I’ve decided to write a blog with the goal of introducing such obscure but amazing games to everyone. When I’ve saved up enough money, I plan to buy a console again and participate in mainstream major games.
As a beginner in blogging, I anticipate encountering confusing passages or situations. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope for your warm understanding. Please bear with me as I grow gradually. Thank you very much for your support.
